With help of the Recorded Login Validation feature you can test if your recording is correct. Your recording is available to download, after you use Detectify’s Chrome extension.

By using the Validator feature, you can check if the login attempt succeeds without the need to perform a full scan.

How does it work?

We retrieve the file (.trail) with the recording and try to sign-in. After being signed-in, sanity checks are performed via our Dublin IP's (currently the validation feature does not take into account the set Scan Region from your Team Settings). 

When performing the validation, all headers (including the User-Agent one) from your Application Scan Settings, cookies and scope are provided.

Note: If your site switches to another version, depending on where it is being accessed from, try updating the "Target: " command in the file to, for example, its .ie version and running another validation with it.

How long does it take?

The normal runtime of the validation feature is  between  3 and 10 minutes, depending on the size of your recording.

A successful validation will display the "Successful" status:

If the validation fails, a “Recorded Login file validation failed” message will be displayed, with additional information about the error.
